Eloy, Arizona – Integrated Modular Solutions Collaborates with Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack on Innovative Housing Solutions to Combat Homelessness in Arizona

Integrated Modular Solutions, a pioneering modular container construction firm specializing in innovative and sustainable housing solutions, is honored to have hosted Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack at our headquarters in Eloy, Arizona. Secretary Vilsack’s visit underscores the urgent need for creative and effective approaches to combating homelessness, a mission Integrated Modular Solutions is deeply committed to.

As part of his visit, Secretary Vilsack, who also serves as the vice chair of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH), are engaged with community leaders to explore comprehensive strategies to tackle and prevent homelessness, a concern that affects urban and rural communities alike. The U.S. Department of Agriculture plays a crucial role in USICH and has contributed insights to the groundbreaking ALL Inside initiative, aimed at addressing unsheltered homelessness. This program, a first of its kind, is being piloted in six communities, including Phoenix, offering new hope and practical solutions to one of our society’s most pressing issues.

Integrated Modular Solutions is at the forefront of addressing the homelessness crisis working with Family Promise of Greater Phoenix to develop, a groundbreaking six-unit, single-story micro-housing community. This project represents a scalable model for affordable housing, leveraging IMS’s innovative use of modified shipping containers. The design ensures that each home, though compact, offers a sense of community and maximizes living space. With an emphasis on sustainability, each unit is designed to be affordable, and occupies less than a quarter of an acre, showcasing how efficient design can lead to significant social impact.

Integrated Modular Solutions is proud to contribute to the dialogue and action plan surrounding homelessness solutions. Our work with Family Promise and the City of Phoenix to create the Village community underscores our commitment to leveraging construction and design for social good. By providing sustainable, affordable, and innovative housing solutions, we aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.

Secretary Vilsack serves as the vice chair of the U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH), and as part of this role, met with community leaders to discuss solutions to address and prevent homelessness, including in rural areas. As part of USICH, the U.S. Department of Agriculture advised on ALL Inside, a first-of-its kind initiative to address unsheltered homelessness across the country, being piloted in six communities including Phoenix.
